Up on the housetop....
This is my little gingerbread house I made from cardboard.
It was easy and I think I may do one with the kids but use frosting and candy instead of paint and pearls. We tried to make our gingerbread house this year from the kit and it looks pretty bad!! LOL
I remember when I was in 1st grade my class made gingerbread houses from the small milk cartons and we covered them in white frosting and decorated. That would be easy to do with the cardboard house since we don't eat them anyway!!
Tonight is the big night!! Michelle has her big Christmas recital and she is in at least 5 dances!! I am excited and very anxious!!
The kids start their vacation as well... and of course 4 birthdays the week of Christmas!!
I am making a happy birthday banner for Michelle in pretty blue paper- she's not into the pink like I am!
This year for Christmas Eve I am making lasagna. This will be my first attempt at it so I hope it turns out well.
The kids wanted chicken for Christmas Day!! So instead of the tradition holiday meals we'll be serving chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, gravy and rolls.
Of course I will also be baking!!
Tommorow the kids will shop for thier ornaments for each other. Each year thy draw a name and do a secret ornament exchange.
I look forward to this time year- only a few days away!!

Pink Christmas
I am dreaming of a white Christmas... well since thats not going to happen in the south, how about a pink Christmas!
This is what I love about my holiday home. The romantic feeling around christmas.
This is sucha crazy time of year so when I am home I like to relax (when possible) in my soft romantic surroundings.
The banner I made says: Buon Natale
which is Merry Christmas in Italien. I am all italien and thought it would be nice to see something different.
The kids haven't even noticed it!!
We have a big family tree in the living room with ornaments that are older then me!
My dear husbands Mom has been giving him and now all of us special ornaments each year- the kids love to see them each christmas time and they all hold special christmas memories. Under the big tree is my village. I will also post these pics later and more christmas pics from our home.
Merry Christmas!!

Mommy's stocking
I am starting to get into the Christmas spirit.
I made this pretty stocking this morning.
I bought the plain white stocking at the Dollar Tree for $1.00 and embellihed the
stocking at home with items I had in my craft draw.
I like it! I think it came out pretty.
The baby's stocking will be Teddy Bear Tea Party theme and the other kids I still
have yet to plan.
Next week the kids will be home (yes for the whole week) and so I am trying to
plan arts and crafts activites for them.
One day we will make a gingerbread house!! I can't wait!!

Great Pumpkin
One of our halloween traditions in our family is to carve pumpkins. The kids have a great time doing so even through the mess.
So last night after we atteded a costume party at school we came home to carve our pumpkins. They came out great!
Another tradition os to watch the "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"
We all watch it together as Michael, I and kids love it!! I bake cookies and we eat and watch the program.
Its the little stuff that makes it so much fun!!
These wonderful little traditions I hope the kids will remember for a long time!

Hello
I haven't been online too much lately.
I have been super busy with the kids and during the day I spend my time
with the baby rather than playing on the computer.
The kids activities are in full swing.
In less than 2 weeks is the babys 2nd birthday and I am so excited!
With halloween being this week we have even more things to do with the
kids.
As much as I complain about how busy I am- I love it!!
The kids really keep me going!!

I've been tagged
Here are 7 things about me!!
I really don't know too mant people in the blogging world so I'm really not sure who to tag- but I will list 7 things about me!!
1. I love Savannah, GA!!
I read the story "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" and saw the movie a million times!! About 7 years ago my husband and I visited Savannah, GA and I love the city!!
And if you look carefully at my kitchen pics I have a statue of the lady in cemetary from a scene in the movie!!!
2. I read mysteries!!
As a child I was a big fan of Nancy Drew and as an adult I read more suspence thrillers like John Saul. I just love to read but sadly have little time for it now!!
3. I took tap and ballet when I was three years old. Just like one of my own babies!! Except I was only there for a few months and my nickname was chatterbox!!!
Who would have guessed!!!
4. My teenage crush was Donnie Walberg from New Kids on the Block!!
Oh how I loved them!!!
5. I only drink soda from a glass. Unless I have absolutely no choice at all- I will only drink soda from a glass- I hate cans!!
6. I have been to the twin towers twice!!
Never been to Ground Zero, however I did visit the World Trade CEnter twice. Once in 1986 and again in the early 1990s. I was deathly afraid in the elevator going up 110 stories and nearly had a panic attack while standing outside trying to look up to the top of the building- I was so afraid it would come falling down on me!!!
7. The song "Rainbow Connection" still makes me cry!!
For some unexplainable reason as a child Kermits "Rainbow Connection" made me cry and it still does to this day!!!
So there it is!!
If you read this and would like to participate in the tag- please leave me a coment. I don't even know how to tag people!! How sad am I!!!
This was fun- thanks for thinking of me Melissa!!!

Whats on top of your fridge????
For a while there the top of the fridge was unnavigated territory!!
Two years ago while pondering what to put on the top of my kitchen cabinets I offically moved to romantic decor. I placed plates and tea cups and all sorts of pretties on the tops of the cabinets- so I after I scrubbed the top of the dust bunny decorated fridge I put even more pretties up there. I bought the cake stand at Michaels and often use it for my pink cupcakes- then I filled the large basket with my favorite roses!!
Gone are the days of wondering what could possibly be at the top of the fridge- now I just have to keep cleaning it!!!

Baby and Me invite you to tea
We did not offically join the make mine pink virtual tea party but I thought I'd share our special tea together.
Ms. Madison of Whinenroses hosted a lovely tea party for her mama.
We had such a great time and she even invited her little friends.
The hostess did a wonderful job of making her mama feel right at home!

Angels amoung us....
Always busy
I just can't seem to slow down!! I am always working on something!
I painted this old tv stand- a light pink and added some pretties.
The frame I found at the thrift store for 50cents so I painted that and added the lace and pearls. The birdcage was also a thrift store find around a dollar I think!! I painted it pink and added the roses.
Most of the kids are gone all day so the house is fairly quiet. The baby and I are enjoying our mommy and me time together!
They grow up so fast!! Before you know it you are sending them to middle school!!
I was pulled into girl scouts once again. I will be leading Mikayla's daisy troop and I have alot of fun parties planned!! A teddy bear tea, ice cream social and many craft parties!!
I am excited about the time Mikayla and I will be spending together!!

Letters to Santa
Trim finishs off bathrom
Our Bedroom-nearly done!!
I am so excited to have our master bedroom near completion!
It took many back breaking, long hours to remove three layers of wallpaper border. We tried one wallpaper removal and didn't work- we tried another which did work much better but it took a very long time to peel off the last layer. Finally it is almost done however there are still many imperfections and I think crown molding may be the answer!! That is for another weekend.
Poor Michael worked harder on his three day off then he does at work!
There are still some details I'd like to add.
The furniture took me three days to finish as well. The first I sanded, and painted all the pieces, the next day was touch ups and third day I put on a clear coat of
Valspar clear protector.
I am very happy with it and it was the first major project I took on all by myself!!

Bedroom furniture before
Thrifty finds
I have been all over thrift stores here and there and found so mant neat treasures lately!!
These beautiful plates I found for only 50 a piece. I love the pink roses and the gold. So pretty and I have enough for a tea party, however there weren't any tea cups!! Now I must find them! the milkglass cake stand I stuffed some roses in was only a few dollars and its just so pretty too.
I rearranged my living room furniture this weekend and I really like it alot. I will get some pics posted tommorow during the day!!
I also found a whole bedroom set- all wood- for only 30.00!!!
I am going to be painting it this week and hope to get our master bedroom painted as well.
I have a huge list of things to do around the house and it gets overwhelming at times!!
I just need to take my time and try not to stress over it. I have a good eye for bargains, which helps alot, and it just takes a great amount of patience.

Camping away
The kids have been having a great time with Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie Amber.
Auntie Amber bought a big tent and the kids have been camping out in the back yard!!
Not exactly roughing it- they have power out there, a fan, a dvd player, radio, lanterns, mps players and the works!!
Mommy tried roughing it out too, but an hour into the night Mamas back was about to give out!!! I tried!!
It was nice and cozy out there for sure! They made smores the first night and watched movies!!

Hallway done!
We kept busy yesterday with some painting projects. We repainted the small hall area leading to MB and while we were at it, we tore down some wall paper borger in the hallway of main bathroom and gave it a fresh coat of paint as well.
It looks great, fresh and clean once again. It's amazing what dogs and kids can do to your home!!
After we painted the hall area off the master bedroom I added some pretties.
The candleabra was a thrift store find for 1.00 that I painted and added roses and costume jewelry too.
We still have to paint the master bedroom and kitchen I added to the list as well.
I am thinking pink!!

Simple Project of the day
I just love finding treasure at the thrift stores and making them pretty.
This frame was a simple wood frame I found for pennies a few years ago.
I painted it off white cream color and cut a piece of pretty wrapping paper to fit
inside the glass then added the thick pink ribbon for the final shabby chic touch.
It fits perfect in the newly decorated bathroom.
And the faux finish on the bathroom walls is actually just sand added to the paint.
It kind of gives it a concrete look.

Master Bath Almost All Done!!! Before and After pics
Here is the before pics. Ugly outdated bathroom in our master bedroom. It is a very small space and so it needed alot od work and we still need to get more stuff done!
Michael pulled out alot of the nasty brown tile I hated and tore out the flourscent lights, I found a vintage light fisture at the thrift store for only 1.50!!
It fits in there perfectly!
Now to the after pics~~
We painted the bath acustome color from Walmart. I found a paint chip called lady of the lake at Lowes and rather than spend the 25.00 on the gallon there I bought it Walmart for 11.86
It came out beautifully!!
Now we still have more to finish up and add to the bathroom.
The ceiling needs to be painted, and we plan on adding some sort of chair rail or crown molulding above the tiolet bowl and around the vanity.
I want to add a pic also on the wall where the light switch is.
It's a work in progress as is the rest of the house! At least now we can enjoy the space and have our own little escape spot for the world!
