I LOVE Pink Saturdays!!!

I'd like to thank Bev at
http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/ for giving me the wonderful opportunity to join Pink Saturday and meet such lovely people and browse their gorgeous blogs!!!
I look forward to pink Saturday so much!!!

Last week I did not participate as I was soooo busy with the kids and the family and I really didn't have time to plan my posts- so I just visited some pretty blogs.

While out and about this week, I found the most precious egg decorations at Marshalls. That store has the best holiday decorations!! They are so delicate and so sweet. I knew I had to add them to my collection of pretties!
I am gradually putting out my Easter decorations. The little faux chocolate bunny I found at a thrift store a few months ago for only 50 cents.
I am in the process of making my own faux candy now!! Can't wait to see how they come out!!

The feather boa wreath was a super duper find at Michaels. I got to use my 40%off one item on this beauty!! It was 14.99 and I paid 9.99 for it!!!
I have a matching pink feather boa tree I made a few years ago that I am going to put on a shelf next to the wreath. It's so pretty I'm afraid to put it on my slamming door!!! So I hung it on the wall in the entry!!

This winter has been unusually cold here in FL and I am dying for some color!!!
Our grass has turned brown, we lost most of our plants out front and I am so sad!! I think this year I am going to be adding some faux foliage and flowers to front landscape. Nothing tacky....just some color!!! Please... I need some color out here!!! I am not used to this brown everywhere!!

Speaking of brown....here is my front door. I finally changed my fall wreath to this spring/Easter one. Yet another Marshalls find for only 6.99.
It is so pretty with the little eggs.
So as you can...I am ready for spring!!!
While I stay busy crafting and decorating- I will try to remember warmth is just around the corner!!
Now I know-I shouldn't even be complaining compared to what some of my friends and family have to deal with up north- but this is Florida!!!
Today's high is 52 degrees!!!!
Ahh..... so much for wanting a white Christmas!!!
I get the cold- but no snow!!!
Be careful what you wish for!!! LOL
Hugs,
Jenn~

Magazine Disappoinment.... Again!!

Once again I bought a magazine, a once favorite of mine that I made sure to never miss an issue a few years back!!
Alot has changed since then!!
I don't buy magazines too often, but every once in a while I'll pick one up!!!
I have to say how disappointed I have been!!!!
Lately most of the magazines don't have any holiday features!!
Rather than showcasing homes that decorate for all the different holidays, they have eliminated them all together!!!
It's just a little disappointing in my opinion!!
I would love to see photos from homes that decorate for the holidays, even if they are ones I don't celebrate!!! I don't care-I'd love to see them all, rather than none!!!
But that's just me!!!
On the brighter side- today my uncle gave this very beautiful teapot and creamer. Isn't it wonderful???? It was my great grandfathers!!!
I love it and I am so happy he gave it to me!!!!!
Made my day!!!

Kids Room redo

Girls Room Before 2007 Wow!! What started out as a day long project turned out to be a 4 day job!!!
There was so much more work that needed to be done and we had to get it right before completing the room.
The room here is an add on. We were not responsible for that construction project! When we bought the house, it was here already. Looks like some one did it in 1 day!! Where the french doors are now was a sliding glass door. It is now framed in and crown moulding was added for some detail. It is not really a bedroom more like a playroom, but we have bunk beds in there so anyone can sleep in there whenever they like. To the left when you first walk in thru the french doors is my oldest daughters room and the twins room too.
We still need to do a few more touch ups and fix the french doors as they are not level yet.

We started by painting the room yellow and it really brightened up the space so much. We took out the disgusting carpet and put down vinyl floor for now and eventually wood floors will go in there as well.
The girls love it!! They play in there often and are saving there money for a flat screen LCD tv in there too!!
Hopefully it will be much easier to clean the floors and keep it organized in there.
As long as the kids remember to clean up thier own toys, then we're doing alright!!!

Pink Saturday and Happy Valentines Day!!!

She had surgury on Friday so praying for a speedy recovery to our gracious hostess!!

Please say a prayer for her!!

The above banner is from my sweet friend Terri!!
She made it herself and I just adore it!!!
Don't I have the greatest friends!!!
Check her out here-

This week we are celebrating Pink Saturday and Valentines Day!!!

Madison had a pretty cupcake at a tea party the two of us had. She looked so sweet and Bentley popped over to say hello.

Madison loves her sweets. A little too much...the poor baby had a problem with her tooth this week and I feel so bad and so guilty!!

After she eats any sweets now (which is not much anymore) she brushes her little precious teeth!!

I felt so guilty. I know what it's like to love candy and sweets and you're only a kid once, so she had 1 cupcake at the tea party and promptly brushed her teeth!!

Love is all in the air here at our home. I got my valentine gift a few days ago!!

Forget chocolate...don't need the calories

No roses- I have plenty of lovely silk ones here at home...

Jewelry...I have a ring on every finger already.....well.....I guess you can never have too much jewelry!!!

But I did get something nice- I got Beatles Rockband!! Talk about fun!!!!!!

I in front of the tv for hours the other night!!! Singing every favorite Beatle tune and jamming on my guitar!!! What a blast!!!!!

When I blogging around the other day I came across Hollie
at http://twigglebox.blogspot.com/
She is having a sweet valentine giveaway!!!

A Valentines Special Pink Saturday~

Bentley and me invite you to tea!!!

This post ended a bit different than I had planned.
My assistant Madison called in sick on me again- decided to take the day off and play at Grandma's house!!!
I had a tea party planned for the two of us and I bought her the cutest cupcakes and she left me!!

Bentley is such a good sport!! He said we could have a tea party together- just me and him!!!
Isn't he a sweetie??!?!
Too bad he growls at everyone when they get too close to me!!

I thought for this Pink Saturday to post some of my favorite cards I have received from some of my dearest friends. One is from my sweet friend Ellen and her lovely sister Shirley!!
Aren't they beautiful cards!!
I got so many nice cards last year that I think I may post them this week and showcase the beauties my friends have sent me!!
Some are handmade and so very beautiful!!!

I love this hanger Valentine!! It is so sweet and the cupids are just darling!!!
I took my kids to Walmart last night so they could pick out their Valentines cards for all the parties they are having next week.
The kids are so sweet- they thought of everyone and so I want to surprise them next week by giving them cards, candy and flowers!!

Thank you to our wonderful host Beverly at

http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/

I look forward to waking up on Saturday morning and seeing all the beautiful pink posts everyone has and I LOVE to see who came to visit me and left a comment!!!

I LOVE comments!!!

Happy Pink Saturday!!!

Umm..pudding treats

I just love Family Fun magazine!! It always has creative projects, recipes and games for the kids.
One treat that was in the magazine from February 2010 issue is Pudding Treats.
I just made instant pudding and stuffed the ice cream cones with it and added some sprinkles and yum!!
What a cute and sweet treat!!!
However they must be eaten pretty quickly as the cone gets mushy after a while.
It's a great activity for scouts or just the kids.
The magazine suggests making the instant pudding in a zip lock baggie
by putting the instant mix in the bag, add 2 cups of milk, seal the bag and shake and knead for 8-10 minutes but that wouldn't work out for my group!!
But it sure would be fun as a project with a troop.
There is also a recipe for smores in a baggie which we are making this weekend with the kids and I'll post some pics and how they turned out after we make them!
Off to bloggie land!!

Tea parties

I've always enjoyed putting on a tea party for my girls!
This picture is from 2006. I threw a party for myself and the twins and our teddy bears are always invited!
Maddie and I enjoy tea parties while her sisters are in school. It is a special time for me and her!!
I'm in the process of planning our tea party for this year.
Some chocolate milk and pink lemonade of course, along with a few treats and our baby dolls.
Ummm... I can just smell the sweet tea in my cup!!!
